People who have created their 'big idea' will of course  want to put it into practical application as soon as possible. It's great to witness the enthusiasm at such times. But it's also tragic to see such high hopes fail because the implementation of the idea is poorly handled.  Indeed around 80% of businesses fail within 5 years in many parts of the world. 

Moving into production can be a challenge, but getting your marketing right from the outset is what's crucial to success.

There's no point in expending much energy into a project for which there is no customer or where it will take too long to on-board a sufficient number of them before your cash runs out.  Or that your product or service idea hasn't been well-enough thought through and packaged to suit the target audience.   

But the fundamental reason why so many businesses fail early on, is because the person with the great idea is not necessarily well equipped to run a business. It takes a significant change in mind-set.
